If you missed the live version of American College of Radiology’s webinar on low-dose CT (LDCT) lung cancer screening, you can now view the program, especially designed for private payers, online.
Hosted by Ella Kazerooni, MD, FACR, chair of the ACR Committee on Lung Cancer Screening, the webinar covers important details about the complex radiology procedures, quality control guidelines and other critical aspects of LDCT lung cancer screening programs.
In particular, Kazerooni addresses quality control guidelines implemented by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services as part of its National Coverage Determination for Medicare coverage. Topics include shared decision-making, facility eligibility criteria and registry requirements. Her presentation helps health plan officials understand how these elements improve patient care.
The federal Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (PPACA) mandated private payer coverage of LDCT lung cancer screening services for high-risk beneficiaries following an endorsement by the U.S. Preventive Services Task Force in December 2013.
The webinar is the seventh in a series of ACR programs on various aspects of radiology practice. It can be viewed at any time using this LINK.
