ACR to Launch Survey for October 2019 RUC Meeting

The American College of Radiology (ACR) plans to distribute a survey by the end of this week (June 3–9, 2019) to randomly selected ACR members for the October 2019 American Medical Association/Relative Value Scale Update Committee (AMA/RUC) meeting in Chicago.

The survey involves screening and diagnostic CT of the thorax, which is a family of four CPT codes. It will ask recipients to apply their clinical knowledge and expertise to time and value questions related to these services. The resulting data will be aggregated and analyzed to build value-based recommendations. Once recommendations are finalized at the AMA/RUC meeting, they will be relayed to the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid (CMS) for final authorization and execution in the 2021 Medicare Physician Fee Schedule.

If you receive the survey, please complete it as soon as possible to enable the ACR to provide data-driven and evidence-based recommendations at the RUC meeting.

The ACR values your active participation. Questions may be addressed to ACR RUC staff member Christy Buranaamorn or by phone at (703) 648-8900, ext. 5653. Thank you for your time and effort.
