By a vote of 226-203, the U.S. House of Representatives passed H.R. 2740, a four-bill spending package, June 19 that included fiscal year (FY)2020 appropriations for the Departments of Labor and Health and Human Services (HHS).
The package retains the House Appropriations Committee-approved $41.1 billion budget for the National Institutes of Health and adopts 64 amendments to the Labor-HHS bill. It also includes the one-year extension of the current delay in implementing the 2009 U.S. Preventive Services Task Force’s screening mammography recommendations.
Senate leaders have not yet announced when they will consider their FY2020 spending bills.
