The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) has announced it has contracted professional services consultant Guidehouse to conduct data validation audits of physicians and groups who participated in the 2017 and 2018 Merit-based Incentive Payment System (MIPS). This will include validation of MIPS quality measures, improvement activities and advancing care information/promoting interoperability measures, if applicable.
Any physician, group or virtual group who participated in the MIPS program in 2017 or 2018 will be eligible for selection. Guidehouse will send a notification by certified mail to those who have been selected. If you receive an audit notice, you will have 45 days from the date of the notice to provide the requested information.
