The Radiology Support, Communication and Alignment Network (R-SCAN®), in collaboration with Main Line Health, recently released the R-SCAN Patient Engagement Toolkit, a step-by-step guide to improving imaging care via an R-SCAN quality improvement project with a patient-centered approach.
Designed to adapt to each healthcare system’s unique environment and processes, the toolkit outlines a strategy and tools to help radiologists and referring clinicians leverage R-SCAN and develop effective partnerships with patients and families. It also provides a five-step implementation guide to help your practice engage patients in optimizing imaging care and reducing unnecessary imaging exams, all while lowering the cost of care for your health system.
The toolkit is intended to empower physicians and patients to work together to make wise, evidence-based choices about medical imaging care. Through examples and real-world experiences from Main Line Health’s use of a patient-centered R-SCAN initiative, the toolkit will help physicians advance both quality improvement and patient-centered care.
