NRDR Among 2017 CMS Approved Data Registries

On May 25, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) posted the 2017 CMS-Approved Qualified Clinical Data Registries (QCDRs) Vendor List of QCDRs that will be able to report data for the Quality, Advancing Care Information and Improvement Activities performance categories in 2017 in the Merit-based Incentive Payment System (MIPS).

Approved as a QCDR since 2014, the initial year CMS allowed participation in PQRS using a QCDR, the American College of Radiology (ACR) National Radiology Data Registry (NRDR) has again been approved and is on the 2017 list.

In CMS’ May 25 vendor posting, the ACR NRDR listing identifies only nine non-MIPS measures (non-MIPS measures are ones only available through a QCDR) available for reporting. Fifteen of the ACR’s previous year non-MIPS measures are still pending CMS final approval and are not included in Version 1 of this posting. The ACR QCDR also supports reporting of 52 MIPS measures primarily relevant to diagnostic and interventional radiologists and radiation oncologists; these measures are included in the vendor listing.

CMS anticipates releasing a revised list of approved QCDRs with final listing of non-MIPS quality measures by mid-to-late- June. The ACR NRDR and QCDR web resources will be updated to reflect the complete QCDR measure list once the revised list is posted.

A list of non-MIPS measures and approval status is available here. Continue to submit your NRDR data for non-MIPS measures and MIPS quality measure data to NRDR so you may receive meaningful feedback for quality improvement.
