Medical image analysis with machine learning holds promise for accelerating the radiology workflow and benefiting patient care amidst COVID-19. However, codes of ethics and practice for use of artificial intelligence (AI) in imaging are necessary.
J. Raymond Geis, MD, FACR, senior scientist of the American College of Radiology Data Science Institute® (ACR DSI), will be featured in a panel discussion, Ethics of AI and Image Analysis, this Thursday, July 30 from 4 to 5pm ET. The panel is part of the Coronavirus Conversations series hosted by Duke Science & Society and Duke +Data Science. This virtual event is free and open to all, but an RSVP is required.
Dr. Geis is one of the leading contributors to the multi-society statement released last October on the same subject, and this panel will continue the rich discussion of ethics of AI in radiology by exploring recommendations and how they apply in the COVID-19 context.
