The American College of Radiology (ACR) and a number of multi-specialty societies have requested revisions to the 2017 National Correct Coding Initiative (NCCI) Policy Manual for Medicare Services updates.
Numerous specialty societies disagree with such edits as ultrasound guidance and ultrasound diagnostic procedures, comparison imaging procedure guidelines, screening digital breast tomosynthesis with screening mammography, and foot with calcaneus or toe procedures.
The ACR will notify members of the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services response to the multi-society request as soon as it is received.
