By all measures, RADPAC®, radiology’s political action committee, generated positive results from contributions directed in the 2016 general election to Congressional incumbents and challengers who are best suited to support radiology’s legislative advocacy agenda.
RADPAC, which is affiliated with the American College of Radiology Association, drew financial support from well over 3,200 contributors, the second highest level of support in its 17-year history. More than 3,000 radiologists, radiology fellows and residents lent support to RADPAC for the sixth consecutive year. They helped it raise more than $1.3 million in hard money raised in 2016.
RADPAC spent nearly $1 million in independent expenditures on the 2016 election in addition to more than $700,000 that supported the campaigns of radiology-friendly members of Congress and congressional candidates.
RADPAC’s aggressive, high level of fundraising and disbursements consistently rank it among the top three physician PACs in the country and thus ensures a political voice for radiology on Capitol Hill.
