NIH Offers Implicit-Bias Training Course

The National Institutes of Health (NIH) is making efforts to reduce sociocultural behaviors such as bias and stereotyping by offering a free Implicit-Bias Training Course. The course trains users to learn what bias is, how to recognize it and how to minimize its impact in the workplace. Implicit bias impacts judgments, decisions and behaviors, although it occurs automatically and unintentionally. These behaviors impact biomedical research at both an individual and institutional level. Research shows implicit bias can pose a barrier to recruiting and retaining a diverse scientific workforce.
