CTC Screening Proposed as New HEDIS Measure

The National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA) has proposed updating screening methods in the Colorectal Cancer Screening, a 2017 Healthcare Effectiveness Data and Information Set (HEDIS®) measure to align with recommendations in the 2016 U.S. Preventive Services Task Force Recommendation Statement on Screening for Colorectal Cancer. The HEDIS proposal would add two new methods: CT colonography (CTC) and FIT-DNA.

The ACR is submitting comments in support of the proposal to include CTC as an additional HEDIS measure. For more information on the measure changes and comment period (deadline Aug. 10), refer to NCQA details.
