The American College of Radiology (ACR) staff attended the Health Care Payment Learning and Action Network (LAN) Spring Summit on April 25 and 26. The theme “Accelerating to Value” for the two day summit aimed to build momentum for the implementation and adoption of alternative payment models nationwide. The Summit provided an opportunity for members of the health care community to share their experiences with developing and adopting alternative payment models (APMs) and how to improve the quality and value in APMs.
The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) developed the LAN to help advance the work being done across sectors to increase the adoption of value-based payments and alternative payment models as previously noted in an Advocacy in Action article.
The LAN provides a forum for public-private partnerships by bringing together CMS with private payers, providers, employers, state partners, consumer groups, individual consumers and many others to accelerate the transition to alternative payment models.
