HHS Relief Fund Payment Terms and Conditions

The Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) released a document outlining Relief Fund Payment Terms and Conditions.

This document will help practices appropriately use funds disturbed to health care providers in response to COVID-19 by the Public Health and Social Services Emergency Fund.

The terms and conditions includes the requirement that recipients has provided on or after January 31, 2020, the diagnoses, testing, or care for individuals with possible or actual cases of COVID-19.

It is critical that providers review the terms and conditions surrounding the distributed funds. One provision requires that payment will only be used to prevent, prepare for and respond to COVID-19, and will only reimburse the health care provider for health care-related expenses or lost revenues that are attributable to COVID-19.

The HHS secretary will provide future guidance on how to submit appropriate documentation to ensure compliance with the terms and conditions.
