The Emergency Relief fund was established to provide direct, urgent support to people facing natural or man-made disasters. This fund allows the Foundation to send radiology equipment and personnel to assist nationally or internationally in time of emergencies. In times of natural disasters normal emergency response systems are overwhelmed depending on the magnitude of the disaster. The Emergency Relief fund activity complements the efforts of on-the-ground medical teams by providing radiology services and equipment.
The Emergency Relief Fund will support training, supplies and equipment for physicians, radiologic technologists and ultrasonographers in basic radiology and ultrasound services in disaster locations. Your support will also help coordinate radiological efforts in areas in crisis to ensure that duplication of effort is minimal and that resources are spent wisely with the greatest positive impact to the effected region.
Your support will help ongoing programs to train personnel, equip facilities and ensure maintenance of equipment and sustainability for the long run.
All contributions are eligible for a tax deduction and contributors will be recognized by the ACR Foundation. Memorial and tribute gifts are encouraged and scholarship and naming opportunities are available.
