Advocacy & Economics

ACR is the leading national organization addressing radiology’s interests with federal and state legislators, regulators and private payers. ACR advocacy efforts in 2011–2012 prevented $1.3 billion in diagnostic imaging reimbursement cuts.

Education

ACR offers continuing medical education including the ACR Education Center, off-site live programs, online learning and print learning. The newest offering is the Radiology Leadership Institute™, an innovative leadership academy designed specifically for radiologists

Quality & Safety

As a leader in imaging quality & safety improvement, ACR has long initiated quality and safety efforts in medical imaging and radiation therapy. Efforts include facility accreditation programs in 10 modalities, the National Radiology Data Registry, ACR Appropriateness Criteria®, and ACR Practice Guidelines and Technical Standards.

Research

The ACR produces clinical and health policy research to advance medical imaging and radiation oncology and provides commercial clinical trial support through ACR Image Metrix™. The new Harvey L. Neiman Health Policy Institute™ studies the role of radiology in evolving health care delivery and payment models.
