Pathways to Learning at ACR
Introduction
The ACR Education Department offers a comprehensive array of instructional options to best meet the learning needs and diverse styles of its members in the field of radiology and its subspecialties. Adults have innate preferences as to how they best learn. These preferred pathways, or learning styles, indicate that instruction should be offered in the broadest variety of delivery modes possible to best meet the learning needs of a large, divergent and dispersed population. Choose the option that fits your needs.
My Education Page
Open the "My Education Page" to access the online activities you purchased. Log in, and when your "My Education Page" opens you may Launch, Claim Credit, and Print Certificates for online products and for various ACR products that feature online claiming. ACR Education Center
The ACR Education Center provides a unique and innovative experience that features a learning environment where individual students and their personalized learning progression are the center of attention. Key characteristics of the futuristic classroom are individually tailored workstations that emulate each student’s clinical environment; an active, hands-on, customized instructional strategy utilizing the ACR Case Engine; vendor representatives and renowned faculty that provide one-on-one guidance and tutoring as needed throughout each course; and an expansive repository of challenging cases/data sets that serve as critical milestones through each course.

Certificate of Advanced Proficiency (CoAP)
The CoAP examination is offered at the ACR Education Center in Reston, Va., on a quarterly basis to those physicians who meet the eligibility requirements. The examination is delivered to candidates in a completely computer-based format and includes both multiple-choice components and a simulated practice setting component whereby candidates conduct actual radiology case assessments. The setting for the examination, the ACR Education Center, is the most technologically advanced radiology testing facility in the world today. Each candidate is provided with a dedicated testing station that includes state-of-the art computer equipment, high-resolution monitors, fiber-optic connectivity to highly secure servers, and high-performance proprietary testing software. The case components of the examination are administered utilizing a large selection of vendor software chosen by the testing candidate.
Online Learning
ACR Online learning offers unlimited access to learning opportunities 24/7 at any location that has computer access to the World Wide Web. Online learning places control of the pace and duration of the learning session in the hands of the participant. It enables users to learn from renowned leaders in the field, take a self assessment examination in total confidence, receive instant feedback, and present virtual learning opportunities that would be rare, if not impossible in real life. Online learning can be an individualized, personal experience or opened to groups of unlimited size at multiple locations.

Print Learning Materials
Authored and reviewed by experts in various radiologic subspecialty topics, the ACR’s well-respected publications offer relevant medical knowledge, challenging casework, questions with high quality images, rationales, and in-depth references. From airplanes to easy chairs, you choose the time and place to study with these exceptional self-assessment modules and books. Multimedia Instructional Materials
CD-ROMs and DVDs offer the best in production quality and provide unique combinations of video, sound, animation, and text. All are provided in an easily transported package. A computer is required to participate in the instruction and enjoy the benefits of a self-paced, individualized and often immersive learning experience, but access to the Internet is not required. Programs are easily installed and launched.

Off-Site Educational Meetings
Live meetings offer the opportunity to get away from the office and experience a world class learning experience in an inviting environment. They provide a venue that allows open conversations, lively exchanges of ideas, and the chance to share and enhance the entire experience with peers and colleagues. ACR’s educational meetings are developed and led by distinguished faculties, generally employ an automated audience response system to encourage active participation, and are held at facilities that provide outstanding down time diversions for participants and their families.
