Please select the accreditation program you're interested in searching. You must select a locality or a ZIP code. You can enter in partial values for ZIP code and city. For example, if you enter "A" for city and "221" for ZIP code, you will get facilities in cities beginning with the letter "A" with a ZIP code starting with "221."

When searching for a city beginning with Fort or Saint (such as Ft. Lauderdale or St. Louis), try combinations such as Ft Lauderdale or St Louis (without a period) and Ft. Lauderdale or St. Louis (with a period), or just type in the ZIP Code.

Look for the ACR accreditation seal!
When you see the seal, you know:

  • Your hospital, clinic or health center has voluntarily gone through a rigorous review process to be sure it meets nationally accepted standards.
  • The personnel are well qualified, through education and certification, to perform and interpret your medical images and administer your radiation therapy treatments.
  • The equipment is appropriate for the test or treatment you will receive.
  • The facility meets or exceeds quality assurance and safety guidelines.

Different modalities (tests and equipment) are used in diagnostic imaging. These include computed tomography (CT), magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), nuclear medicine, positron emission tomography (PET), ultrasound, mammography*, stereotactic breast biopsy, breast ultrasound, and breast MRI. The ACR accredits each of these "modalities" separately, so look for each modality’s accreditation seal in your hospital's advertisements. Please note that the ACR no longer offers accreditation for general x-ray services.

(*Facilities in Iowa, Texas and Arkansas may be accredited in mammography through the FDA-approved state accrediting body. Patients in these states should check with their local mammography facility to make sure it is accredited and MQSA-certified if it does not appear on this list.)

The ACR awards two special recognitions:

Breast Image Center of ExcellencesFacilities with this logo are Breast Imaging Centers of Excellence. They have demonstrated excellence in breast imaging by successfully achieving accreditation in Mammography, Stereotactic Breast Biopsy, Breast Ultrasound and Ultrasound-Guided Breast Biopsy.

Image GentlyFacilities with this logo have successfully achieved accreditation in CT for pediatric imaging. This demonstrates their commitment to image pediatric patients with the appropriate radiation doses.
