Revised Versions of Sample Lay Reports for BI-RADS® Now Available
The sample lay reports for breast imaging are examples of letters that can be used by physicians to communicate examination results to their patients. They contain all of the pertinent information that should be relayed in an easy-to-use, customizable template. The Mammography Quality Standards Act (MQSA) requires that a summary of the written report be sent directly to every patient who receives a mammogram in language comprehensible to a layperson. The ACR offers these sample reports to assist physicians as they fulfill this responsibility. The reports available here may be used to convey the results of any breast imaging examination, not just mammography.
