The American College of Radiology is the copyright owner with respect to a work entitled Breast Imaging Reporting and Data System Atlas (hereinafter referred to as BI-RADS ®Atlas), The BI-RADS® Atlas is designed to serve as a comprehensive guide providing standarized breast imaging terminology, a report organization, assessment structure and a classification system for mammography, ultrasound and MRI of the breast. The BI-RADS® Atlas also includes the latest revisions to the assessment categories, expanded definitions to lexicon terminology, and statistical definitions for the performance of a mammography audit.

All the ACR BI-RADS® Atlas material on this server is copyright protected. You may not modify it or create derivative works based the Atlas material. Personal use of material is permitted for quality assurance, research, scientific and/or information purposes only. Distribution of these materials is strictly forbidden, including but not limited to posting, e-mailing, faxing, archiving in a public database, redistributing via a computer network or in a printed form without the prior written permission of the American College of Radiology.

Development of the ACR BI-RADS® – Ultrasound and ACR BI-RADS® – MRI were supported in part by the United States Public Health Service Office of Women's Health, Susan G. Komen Foundation, United States Army Breast Cancer Research Program and the National Cancer Institute.

All referring physicians and radiologists should be aware of the benefits and limitations of the application of imaging techniques. Imaging techniques classified as investigational by the FDA have not been considered in developing the BI-RADS® Atlas; however, study of new equipment and applications should be encouraged. The ultimate decision regarding breast imaging procedures and treatment must be made by the referring physician and radiologist in light of all the circumstances presented in an individual examination.

Warranty

Warranty limitations. (i) ACR BI-RADS® is provided on an "as is" basis, without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including, but not limited to, warranties of title, or implied warranties of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose; (ii) the use of BI-RADS® is at your own risk; (iii) access to ACR BI-RADS® may be interrupted and may not be error free; (iv) neither the American College of Radiology nor anyone else involved in creating, producing, or delivering ACR BI-RADS® contained therein, shall be liable for any direct or indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of your use or inability to use ACR BI-RADS®.
