ACR Practice Guidelines and Technical Standards Reviewers
ACR Practice Guidelines and Technical Standards represent a policy statement of the College. The ACR periodically defines new practice guidelines and technical standards for radiologic practice to help advance the science of radiology and to improve the quality of service to patients throughout the United States. Existing practice guidelines and technical standards are reviewed for revision or renewal, as appropriate, on their fifth anniversary or sooner, if indicated.
Each guideline and standard undergoes a thorough consensus process, in which it has been sujected to extensive reivew. This review process relies on the volunteer efforts of many ACR members. There are various ways to contribute to the development and review process of guidelines and standards. They include reviewing and commenting on drafts during the open comment period and participating on a committee charged with developing and reviewing guidelines and standards.
