ACR Imaging Network

ACRIN is the American College of Radiology Imaging Network, a cooperative group that manages clinical trials of imaging technologies as they relate to cancer, funded by the National Cancer Institute, part of the National Institutes of Health in Bethesda, MD. ACRIN has been in operation since March 1999.

ACRIN welcomes the participation of all community and academic practitioners, as well as the representatives of industry, health care payors, and others interested in medical imaging trials.

ACRIN needs and welcomes the participation of individuals from all practice settings. All the opportunities for participation available to large practices are equally offered to smaller practices.

The amount of time required to participate in ACRIN depends on your level of interest and the roles you agree to take on. It is possible to participate in as little as a single ACRIN trial or, at the other extreme, broadly in the whole scope of ACRIN activities.

There are a number of ways to participate in ACRIN:

  • Submit a summary protocol with an idea for a trial; if ACRIN agrees to conduct the trial, you will be the Principal Investigator/trial team member;
  • Apply for your institution to become an ACRIN site for a specific trial and become a Site PI;
  • Become a member of an ACRIN committee;
  • Come to an ACRIN meeting and participate in trials development.
