Former NFL Lineman Helps ACR Member Demonstrate New CT Scanner

For 10 years Dave Studdard was a fixture on the Denver Broncos offensive line, protecting his quarterback from potential health problems. Recently, Studdard helped demonstrate how a new CT machine at Parkview Medical Center in Pueblo, Colo., can help protect patients from potential health problems of their own.

The center recruited Studdard, 50, for a demonstration “to see what 10 years in the National Football League does to a man’s heart,” noted a January 20 article in The Pueblo Chieftain. To Studdard’s relief, the tests showed his heart was in excellent shape, according to ACR member Michael F. Bhagat, MD.

“I think [the new scanner] will really improve patient comfort, patient care for us, and help us better serve the people of Southern Colorado,” Bhagat said in the article.
