ACR Ultrasound Commission Chair Featured in Baltimore Sun Article on Fetal Keepsake Videos
Carol M. Rumack, MD, chair of the ACR’s Commission on Ultrasound expressed the ACR position that fetal ultrasound be performed only for medical purposes with a prescription from an appropriately licensed provider in an April 1 Baltimore Sun article on fetal keepsake videos.
The article states, “Dr. Rumack, chairwoman of the American College of Radiology's Commission on Ultrasound and a professor of radiology at the University of Colorado School of Medicine, said her main complaint is that fetal-portrait studios do not present a written report, as is customary after traditional diagnostic imaging studies.”
