ACR Members Tout New Technology
Two ACR members are hailing a new technological innovation that pairs 3-D CT-scan imaging with intensity modulated radiotherapy as one of the profession's greatest achievements in an article in their local newspaper.
"This is the most important advance in radiation oncology in 50 years," James K. Gerstley, MD, said of the TomoTherapy Hi-Art System in an Aug 10 article in The Journal News. "It enables you to do treatments you couldn't do before."
Gerstley and his partner, Margaret J. Torrey, MD, operate Advanced Radiation Oncology Services of Rockland in Nyack, NY.
ACR Member Najeeb Mohideen of Loyola University Medical Center in Chicago is also quoted in the newspaper article.
