ACR Fellow Brickner Passes Away
ACR Fellow Theodore J. Brickner Jr., M.D., passed away April 13, 2009. Brickner, a resident of Tulsa, Okla., served the College as vice president from 2000-2001, was a member of the Board of Chancellors and several ACR committees and commissions.
A native of Tulsa, Brickner received his bachelor’s degree from Purdue University in 1954 and his medical degree from Washington University Medical School in St. Louis in 1958. He completed his internship at Walter Reed Army Hospital in 1959, radiology residency at Fitzsimons General Hospital in 1962, and fellowship in radiation oncology at Walter Reed General Hospital in 1966.
Dr. Brickner was the Director Radiation Oncology at Saint Francis Hospital in Tulsa from 1968 until his retirement in 2001. According to Paul E. Wallner, D.O., FACR, in a Web Exclusive in ASTRO News, “Jerry leaves behind his beloved wife Suzanne, his three daughters and their extended families, and a profession and group of close-knit colleagues as devoted to him as he was to them. He will be sorely missed.”
