Reminder – Call for Nominations
The 2006-2007 College Nominating Committee will make recommendations for candidates to fill the offices of president and vice president; elected positions on the Board of Chancellors, Council Steering Committee, and College Nominating Committee; and four members in training and a private practice representative to the Intersociety Summer Conference.
Any member can forward recommendations for any of the elected or selected positions to the College Nominating Committee in care of the ACR executive office on or before December 30, 2006.
For more information on how to submit nominations visit the ACR Web site or contact Mary Jane Donahue at mjdonahue@acr.org or (800) 227-5463, ext 4902.
ACR Attorney Referral Service – Your Input is Needed
Because the ACR’s attorneys represent the College rather than individual members and because they are not licensed in all 50 states, their guidance to members who request assistance can only be general. In light of this, one of the services provided by ACR’s Legal Department is a state attorney referral service. The College has compiled a list of attorneys in each state that can assist ACR members with:
- Review of contracts or medical staff bylaws
- Consultation regarding business ventures
- Clarification of state laws and regulations
Compilation of the State Attorney Referral List began several years ago and the ACR’s Legal department is taking steps to update and expand the list. We are seeking your input regarding attorneys in your state who have experience working with radiologists or radiation oncologists either in contract review, business issues, medical staff issues, fraud and abuse, credentialing, peer review, liability, or other legal matters or concerns. Your contributions to this valuable service are appreciated.
To recommend an attorney or law firm, please contact Leisa Good at lgood@acr.org or at (800) 227-5463, ext 4557.
