Act Now to Correct a Shortage of Nominations for the 2005 ACR Elections

The ACR College Nominating Committee has received very few nominations for the 2005 ACR elections. If you or someone you know has an interest in an ACR leadership position, please submit a nomination. Please keep in mind there are 2 positions available to members in training to attend the 2005 Intersociety Committee Summer Conference. Click here for more details about the nomination process and requirements. If you need more information, please contact Mary Jane Donahue at either maryjaned@acr.org or (800) 227-5463, ext 4902.

Councilor Apportionment Update

The apportionment process has been delayed due to problems with pulling accurate data from the ACR membership database. You may recall that the ACR launched a new membership database during the summer. Staff has been working to make sure data pulled from the apportionment report is accurate. It is likely the apportionment report will be completed and data will be available to chapter leaders by early December. Chapter leaders will have time to update their rosters of councilors and alternate councilors prior to the 2005 AMCLC. If you need more information, please contact Kelly Foster at either kellyf@acr.org or (800) 227-5463.

Government Relations Staff Offer Update on 2004 Election

Staff in the ACR Government Relations Department have prepared a report titled What the 2004 Elections Mean for Health Care. This report reviews the outcome of the recent election cycle and offers insight on the impact this has for the profession of radiology as well as the government relations focus of the ACR. There is also a report available from RADPAC that details contributions made to candidates during the election cycle. Click here for the RADPAC report.

Check Your Mailbox for the ACR Annual Report

ACR members, with the exception of retirees, and executive directors and executive secretaries should receive a copy of the 2004 ACR Annual Report via mail in the next week. The report is a detailed review of the College's work over the past year. Chapter leaders and staff should also note the feature on page 17 on the 2003 Chapter Recognition Award winners.

As a reminder, the deadline for submissions for the 2004 recognition awards is December 31, 2004. There is still plenty of time for chapter leaders to submit work done in the areas of communications, government relations, meetings and education, and membership for points toward an award. Award winners will be recognized at the 2005 AMCLC. Click here for more information about earning a chapter recognition award.

Come Visit Us at RSNA
