Notice Sent Regarding the Chapter Visitation Program
Letters have been sent to chapter presidents and executive staff containing information about participating in the Chapter Visitation Program. Through this program the College provides funding for an ACR speaker to attend a chapter meeting to highlight emerging issues and recent ACR activities. In addition, the ACR representative provides a forum or makes himself or herself available to receive chapter and member input. If your chapter would like to participate in the Chapter Visitation Program, please complete the Future Chapter Meeting Profile.
We ask that you complete a chapter meeting profile form, even if your chapter is not requesting a speaker, so that we can list your chapter meeting on the ACR Web site and award points in the chapter recognition program as appropriate. For forms returned 3 months prior to the meeting date your chapter will earn 10 points; 10 bonus points will be awarded for forms returned 3 months prior to the meeting date and no later than January 31.
For more information, please contact Trina Zeberlein at either tzeberlein@acr.org or (800) 227-5463, ext 4998.
Request Sent for Members-in-Training to Attend the 2006 AMCLC Meeting
Formal invitations have been sent to chapter leaders asking them to sponsor 1 or more residents or fellows to attend the 2006 AMCLC and the Resident and Fellow Section meeting. Chapter leaders who attended last year’s AMCLC may recall the impact the meeting experience had on over 100 residents and fellows. Last year, some chapter leaders, recognizing the role this meeting plays in developing chapter and ACR leaders, increased the number of residents they sponsored to attend the meeting. The ACR also recognizes the importance of providing members-in-training with an opportunity to attend the meeting and has approved an increase in the funding available to help support chapters who sponsor residents and fellows. For the 2006 meeting, the ACR will offer $2,000 to those chapters that choose to send at least 2 residents to the AMCLC.
The deadline for naming members-in-training to attend next year’s AMCLC is December 16, 2005. Please contact Tiffany Gibson at tgibson@acr.org or (800) 227-5463, ext 4496, for more information.Final Set of Drafts of 2006 Practice Guidelines and Technical Standards Available Online
ACR members can review and comment on the drafts of the 2006 ACR Practice Guidelines and Technical Standards on the ACR Web site. The comments will be considered for inclusion in the drafts that will be presented for adoption at the 2006 Annual Meeting and Chapter Leadership Conference next spring.
The fifth, and final, group of drafts will be available for review and comment, November 21 through December 16. Click here to access the drafts.
If you have any questions contact Margaret Wyatt at mwyatt@acr.org or (800) 227-5463, ext 4491.
Deadline for Making Changes to 2006 Dues Has Passed
The deadline to submit changes for 2006 dues was October 15. For those chapters that have not returned a dues information sheet we will assume that no changes have been made and proceed with dues invoicing for the 2006 dues year. Any changes that are submitted after this point will be considered effective for the 2007 dues year.
If you have any questions please contact Barbara Quattrone in the Membership Services Department at (800) 347-7748 or at bquattrone@acr.org. You may also write to membership@acr.org
Chapter Recognition - Make Sure Your Web Site is Ready for Review
Chapters that maintain an up-to-date Web site can earn 20 points in the communications category of the Chapter Recognition Program. Web sites will be reviewed at the end of the current award year (December 31) and should include the most current chapter information, including current officers and chapter contacts, as well as meeting information for the current and upcoming year. The site should also include information on how to become a member.
For more information on how to participate in the Chapter Recognition Program visit the ACR Web site or contact Trina Zeberlein at tzeberlein@acr.org.
