ACR to Encourage Chapter Membership at RSNA

The ACR has put together a brochure focusing on ACR and chapter membership for distribution at the ACR booth at the 2004 RSNA meeting.  This four-page brochure highlights the benefits of both ACR and chapter membership and outlines the purposes of these organizations.

Please stop by the ACR Booth (#4338) during the meeting.

ACR Radiology Coding Source: An Important Member Benefit

The ACR has become aware that one of the competing publication sources in radiology billing has been seeking the endorsement of state medical societies in an effort to increase its sales.  It is important to note that the publication, the Radiology Coders' Pink Sheet, is providing information largely found in the ACR's new publication, ACR Radiology Coding Source.

The ACR Radiology Coding Source is sent to all ACR/ACRA members on a bi-monthly basis as a benefit of membership.  The publication is also available to non-members, billing service organizations, etc.  A sample of the publication is available on the ACR/ACRA Web site.  CLICK HERE for a direct link.

The ACR/ACRA can provide up-to-date information on these issues due in large part to its work on behalf of the CPT Editorial Panel, relationships with CMS staff, exhaustive work on the correct coding initiative, national coverage issues and answers to frequently asked questions posed to our panel of experts who serve on the ACR Committee on Coding and Nomenclature.

The College believes this is an important benefit offering members timely and critical information on billing and coding issues.  We would urge you to emphasize this important benefit to your members.  Also, please consider contacting your state medical society to let them know about the ACR Radiology Coding Source for anyone interested in radiology billing.

ACR Professional Bureau On-Site Interview Service 2003

At the RSNA annual meeting, November 30 – December 4, your colleagues will be participating in the ACR Professional Bureau On-Site Interview Service.  If you are looking for a job or need to hire a new radiologist, radiation oncologist or medical physicists, and will be at the RSNA meeting, you should be pre-registered to participate also.  It’s not too late to set up your account and fill your calendar with interview times.  If you just can’t get to it before the meeting, there will be computers in the Professional Bureau room (McCormick Place, South Building, Room 102A) for your use.  If you have already registered, or even if you have no need of the service at this time, please pass the word along to your fellow chapter members incase they have need of the service.

Go to www.acr.org/probur.  Complete step-by-step instructions are available on-line.  Contact ACR staff at 1-800-227-3370 or pro-bur@acr.org if you have any questions, or see us in Room S102A in  McCormick Place,  during RSNA.
