The ACR Government Relations Department Needs Your Help
As the 2007 Annual Meeting and Chapter Leadership Conference approaches, the ACR's government relations (GR) staff is preparing for Capitol Hill Day, scheduled for Wednesday, May 23. Similar to last year, chapters have been asked to identify a GR key contact whose role will be to schedule the two Senate appointments for that chapter's delegation. The key contact's responsibilities are not time-consuming, but they are time-sensitive, as things on Capitol Hill move fast and often without much advance notice.
To date, only half the chapters have identified a key contact. To see if your chapter still needs to identify an individual, visit our Web site.
If your chapter does not have a key contact and you would like to serve in that capacity or know someone who would, you can sign up by using the key contact sign-up form.
Information about Capitol Hill Day can be found on the ACR Web site. If you have questions or need additional information, please contact Ted Burnes, director of RADPAC and political education, at (888) 295-8843 or tburnes@acr.org. You may also contact Melody Ballesteros at mballesteros@acr.org.
Final Chance to Comment on Draft Guidelines in Advance of the AMCLC
ACR members have one last chance to review and comment on the guidelines and standards that will be presented at the 2007 AMCLC, May 19-23 in Washington D.C.
Comments made in advance of the meeting will be distributed to the assigned reference committees. These comments are the equivalent of Council testimony and will be debated by the reference committee during closed session. Review of the draft guidelines is an important part of councilor duties, but all ACR members are encouraged to take part in the process.
Draft guidelines and standards are available on the ACR Web site through March 30.
If you have questions about this process, please contact Joyce Kidwell at (800) 227-5463, ext. 4592 or jkidwell@acr.org.
Invite Your Members to Have Fun Learning at the ACR Campus™
Encourage your members to take advantage of the latest radiologic education offerings from the ACR. Invite them to visit the ACR Campus™ at http://campus.acr.org for unmatched online learning and professional development opportunities, 24 hours a day. Through the ACR Campus, members will discover an array of radiology topics, including the unique gaming features "Doctor Challenger" and "Patient Waiting Room." They can go head-to-head with an electronic "opponent" while diagnosing challenging radiologic chest studies with "Doctor Challenger." In the "Patient Waiting Room," they'll experience a virtual waiting room in a breast imaging center where they will review a variety of breast imaging cases and interpret studies. Afterwards, they can compare scores with their peers.
Visit the ACR Web site for more information on the ACR Campus™ and other meetings and products available from the ACR. If you would like to publicize the ACR Campus in your chapter communications, please contact Trina Zeberlein at tzeberlein@acr.org or (800) 227-5463, ext. 4998.
