2007 Chapter Leaders’ Workshop and Breakfast

Once again, the Office of Chapter and Volunteer Development will hold the Chapter Leaders' Workshop during the 2007 ACR annual meeting. Through the workshop, we hope to provide chapter leaders with an opportunity to learn from and interact with their peers in other chapters, as well as ACR staff members.

The agenda is under development and we welcome your input regarding both topics and format. Your feedback is extremely important in ensuring that we address common concerns and topics that are of interest to our chapter leadership. Click here to complete a brief questionnaire.

Participating in the Chapter Recognition Award Program in 2007

January 1 marked the beginning of the 2007 award year. Chapters can submit their entries for chapter activities from now until December 31, 2007, for awards to be presented during the 2008 AMCLC. Click here for more information about the chapter recognition program.

New for 2007!

Based on feedback received during the 2006 Chapter Leaders’ Workshop, the Committee on Chapters has decided to give overall awards in each of the four divisions in the Chapter Recognition Program. In addition to competing for an award in a particular category, each chapter participating in the program will also be eligible to win an award based on its overall participation. This change has been made to encourage chapters to participate in all categories and to recognize the efforts of those chapters that are excelling in more than one area.

Chance to Earn Bonus Points!

The Future Chapter Meeting Profile Form allows chapters to earn points for submitting information about their upcoming chapter meetings; this may include membership meetings, executive committee meetings, and educational meetings. In order to earn points for this activity, a chapter must submit the form at least three months prior to the meeting. A chapter earns 10 points per meeting for which a form is submitted. If you return the form three months before the meeting date AND no later than January 31, your chapter will earn 10 bonus points. Act now to collect your bonus points.

Sponsor Members-in-Training to Attend the 2007 AMCLC and RFS Annual Meeting

The ACR is again offering funding to chapters to offset the cost of sponsoring members-in-training to attend the AMCLC and RFS annual meeting. The ACR will provide $2,000 to those chapters that choose to send at least two residents to the annual meeting and $1,000 to those chapters sending only one resident.

The deadline for naming members-in-training to attend next year’s AMCLC is January 15.

Submitting Chapter Officer and Councilor Information

Chapters are responsible for notifying the ACR Office of Chapter and Volunteer Development when changes occur in their rosters of officers, councilors, and alternate councilors. As we begin the new year, we’d like to ask that you provide us with current rosters of your chapter officers and councilors to help ensure that our records are accurate.

When providing rosters please be sure to include the following information:

  • Position held
  • First and last names of person holding the position
  • Term dates (beginning and ending)
