Learn More About the ACR Pitch to Congress on Designated Physician Imagers for Medicare

Chapter leaders have been invited to attend a special meeting on February 26, 2005, in Chicago, Ill, to learn more about the ACR plan to encourage Congress to place limits on who can provide imaging to Medicare patients. At this time, 38 chapters plan to send 1 or more representatives to the meeting. If your chapter has not identified someone to attend the meeting, please consider doing so. Chapter Recognition Awards for 2005

January 1 marked the beginning of the 2005 award year. Chapters can make submissions for chapter activities from now until December 31, 2005, for awards to be presented during the 2006 AMCLC.

Last Chance to Earn Bonus Points!
The Future Chapter Meeting Profile Form allows chapters to earn points for submitting information about their upcoming chapter meetings; this may include membership meetings, executive committee meetings, and educational meetings. In order to earn points for this activity, a chapter must submit the form at least 3 months prior to the meeting. A chapter earns 10 points per meeting for which a form is submitted. This year, if you return the form 3 months prior to the meeting date and no later than January 31, your chapter will earn 10 bonus points. Act now and collect your bonus points. Visit the ACR Web site to access this form and more information about the Chapter Recognition Program.

New for 2005!
Chapters can earn points for administering evaluations at their chapter meetings. Chapters should submit a copy of the evaluation form to the Office of Council and Chapter Services via e-mail, fax, or mail. A chapter will earn 10 points for the meeting evaluation. You may make submissions using the contact information below.

AMCLC Information Sent to Chapter Executives

On January 11, detailed information about the AMCLC was sent to chapter executive directors and executive secretaries. The letter discussed the following topics:

  • AMCLC registration for executive directors and executive secretaries
  • Planning caucus meetings
  • Participation in the Chapter Leaders' Workshop and breakfast
  • Chapter recognition award presentations
  • Making councilor substitutions

In response to continued demand, the ACR has scheduled 2 additional conferences on the cutting-edge topic of PET and PET/CT. With more third-party payers requiring PET accreditation, the College is providing additional opportunities to earn the required CME.
