Encourage Your Delegation to Register for the AMCLC

The deadline for registering for the AMCLC is March 8. At this time, registration for the meeting is slower than in previous years. Please encourage the members of your chapter's delegation to register for the meeting by the March 8 deadline. You may want to suggest they visit the AMCLC Web page at www.acr.org/05meeting to retrieve registration information. The ACR Office of Council and Chapter Services is able to provide chapter leaders with a listing of people who have already registered for the meeting. If you are interested in getting a copy of this list, please contact Merry-Lynn Sheetz at merrylynns@acr.org or (800) 227-5463, ext 4496.

Chapter Dues Payments to Be Sent This Week

Chapters who participate in the ACR dues billing service will soon receive the next payment of dues collected between January 1-31, 2005. For more information, please contact Barbara Quattrone at barbaraq@acr.org or (800) 347-7748.

Last Few Days to Earn Bonus Points Toward a Chapter Recognition Award

Completing the chapter membership goals statement by March 1 earns your chapter 10 points towards a chapter recognition award in the membership category. Subsequent points can be earned by completing an update form to let us know of your progress in reaching the goal; additional points are awarded for meeting the goal by either 50% or 100%. Click here to access the form on the ACR Web site. If you need more information, please contact Trina Madison at trinam@acr.org or (800) 227-5463, ext 2998.

New Problems After Aetna and CIGNA Settlements

The ACR Commission on Economics would like chapter leaders to be aware of a recent posting on the ACR Web site. This notice concerns the Aetna and CIGNA class action settlements and discusses what physicians can do if they encounter any violation of the terms of these settlements. Click here to read the notice. An article on this topic will be published in an upcoming ACR Bulletin. Local ACR Managed Care Network liaisons have also been made aware of this issue. If you need more information, please contact Angela Stanley at angelas@acr.org or (800) 227-5463, ext 4560.
