Act Now to Sponsor MITs to Attend the AMCLC!

Chapter leaders were sent invitations early in November asking them to sponsor 1 or more residents or fellows to attend the 2006 AMCLC and the Resident and Fellow Section meeting. In recognition of the importance of providing members-in-training with an opportunity to attend the meeting, the ACR has increased the funding available in 2006 and will offer $2,000 to those chapters that send at least 2 residents to the AMCLC.

Please submit the names of members-in-training that your chapter would like to sponsor by December 16, 2005.

Chapter Recognition Deadline Nears - Submissions due by December 31!

Would you like to see your chapter recognized with a Chapter Recognition Award during the 2006 Annual Meeting and Chapter Leadership Conference? If so, act now! The deadline for submissions for the 2005 awards is December 31. These awards recognize chapter activities in the areas of communications, government relations, meetings and education, and membership and will be presented at the 2006 AMCLC.

Award criteria and submission forms are available on the ACR Web site. If you have questions about the chapter recognition program, please contact Trina Zeberlein at tzeberlein@acr.org.

December 30 Deadline to Submit Recommendations to the College Nominating Committee

The 2005-2006 College Nominating Committee will make recommendations for candidates to fill the offices of president and vice president; elected positions on the Board of Chancellors, Council Steering Committee, and College Nominating Committee; and 4 members in training and a private practice representative to the Intersociety Summer Conference. The deadline for submitting recommendations for any of these positions is December 30.

Opportunity to Help Residency Programs in Need

We’d like to make chapters aware of an opportunity to offer assistance to residency programs in Louisiana that were affected by Hurricane Katrina. The radiology libraries at LSU, Tulane, and Ochsner, as well as the personal libraries of residents training at these programs, were all damaged and need to be replenished. The ACR has provided these three programs with copies of ACR Learning Files and Professional Self-Evaluation Syllabi in response to their needs. If your chapter is interested in making a donation to any of the programs to help them restock their libraries please contact Trina Zeberlein at tzeberlein@acr.org.

  • ACR Executive Education Boot Camp: Finance, Accounting and Business Planning for Radiology Professionals

    The ACR will sponsor a course in Finance, Accounting and Business Planning for Radiology Professionals March 9-12, 2006 in Vail, Colorado. Frank J. Lexa, MD, MBA, from the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School will serve as director of the course and 15 Category 1 CME credits will be available to attendees.     • February 20, 2006 – Deadline for submitting Resolutions for consideration at the annual Council meeting
    • May 1, 2006 – Deadline for submitting ACR fellowship nominations for the 2007 convocation.
