Let’s Try Something New to Help One Another

Recently staff in the ACR Office of Council and Chapter Services received requests from two chapters for assistance in collecting information from other chapters.  We want to help facilitate ACR chapters learning from one another.  Beginning with this issue, we will from time to time include questions asking for your response.  We will then publish the collected data and share it with other ACR chapter leaders.  Please see below for this week’s question from the Connecticut Radiological Society.  Are you curious about how other chapters are doing things?  Forward your questions to chapters@acr.org.

Please Respond: A Question from Connecticut

The Connecticut Radiological Society would like to know the following:

Does your chapter have director/officer liability insurance?

Please respond by reply email to chapters@acr.org by Aug. 14, 2003.  We will publish the collected data in the Aug. 21 issue of this newsletter.

Now is the Time to Review Draft ACR Practice Guidelines and Technical Standards for the 2004 AMCLC

It is now more important then ever for you and your chapter members to participate in the review and comment process of draft ACR Practice Guidelines and Technical Standards.  In passing a resolution during the 2003 ACR Annual Meeting and Leadership Conference, the Council believes the place to propose changes to ACR Practice Guidelines and Standards is in this review process and not during the Council meeting.  Therefore, it is imperative that you and your chapter members participate in the review process over the next few months.  Please read below for more details about how to participate in this process.

ACR Members can review and comment on the Practice Guidelines and Technical Standards on the ACR Web site.  These drafts will be presented for adoption at the 2004 Annual Meeting and Chapter Leadership Conference.  The field review process started in August and will continue through November.  Each month, four to six drafts will be posted on the ACR Web site for member review.  When the last drafts are posted in October/November, ACR members will have had the opportunity to comment on all the drafts.  Titles of the drafts that will be submitted for renewal, but are not going through the field review process, also will be posted on the ACR Web site.

How to Review the Draft ACR Practice Guidelines and Technical Standards

·        Go to the ACR Web site (www.acr.org)
