Welcome to New Chapter and Volunteer Development Staff
Please join us in welcoming Tiffany Gibson as a new member of the staff in the ACR office of chapter and volunteer development. Some of Tiffany's responsibilities at the College include working to maintain an accurate database of ACR chapter officers, developing the chapter page in the ACR Bulletin, and providing administrative support for the chapter visitation and recognition programs. Second Set of Drafts of 2006 Practice Guidelines and Technical Standards Available Online
ACR members can review and comment on the drafts of the 2006 ACR Practice Guidelines and Technical Standards on the ACR Web site. The comments will be considered for inclusion in the drafts that will be presented for adoption at the 2006 Annual Meeting and Chapter Leadership Conference next spring. There will be 5 comment periods for review of draft guidelines, each lasting 4 weeks.
The second group of drafts will be available for review and comment through September 23. Click here to access the drafts.

Chapter Billing Contracts to be Sent
Within the next week, chapter presidents, secretaries, and executive directors/secretaries will receive ACRa billing contracts from the membership department. Contracts will be sent by e-mail when possible; those individuals without e-mail addresses will receive a hard copy of the contract. Contracts will be due by October 15.
Special Note – If your chapter is planning to change the amount of dues this must be done by October 15 in order to be in effect for the 2006 dues year.

ACR to Cancel Memberships for Non-Payment of Dues
The membership department will cancel memberships for nonpayment of dues on September 17. If you’d like to receive a copy of your members that have not yet paid dues, please contact Barbara Quattrone at (800) 347-7748 or bquattrone@acr.org.
Please share with your Radiation Oncology Members: ACR/CARROS Info Session at ASTRO
The ACR/CARROS Info Session will be held on October 15 during the 2005 ASTRO meeting in Denver. The topic for the session will be Quality of Care in Radiation Oncology. The session will be led by Bharat Mittal, MD, CARROS president, and presenters are James Purdy, PhD, Paul Wallner, DO, and Frank Wilson, MD.

- ACR LifeLong Learning Series Presents Advanced Concepts in Body MRI
- ACR Offers a Summit on Lifetime Career Management for Radiologists
The ACR has scheduled 2 weekend courses in body MRI as part of the LifeLong Learning series. The courses will take place September 10-11 in Santa Monica, Calif, and October 22-23 in Amelia Island, Fla. Each course offers up to 13.5 category 1 CME credits. The ACR will sponsor the Summit on Lifetime Career Management for Radiologists November 5-6, in Las Vegas. The summit is designed for radiologists at all stages of their careers and addresses the critical long-term planning issues that have the greatest impact on the success of radiologists. Frank J. Lexa, MD, MBA, from the University of Pennsylvania's Wharton School, will serve as director of the course, and 10 CME credits will be available to attendees.

- May 1, 2006 – Deadline for submitting ACR fellowship nominations for the 2007 convocation.
