Chapter Administrative and Support Staff Maintain the Ability to Access Members-Only Information on the New ACR Web Site
The ACR launched a new Web site October 15. For ACR members, this launch included a change in the way some ACR members access members-only content. See the article below to learn more about the changes in the username and password for some ACR members.
As in the past, chapter executive directors, executive secretaries, and other chapter support staff also have access to members-only content on the ACR Web site through a special username and password. This username and password did not change with the transition to the new Web site. It remains as follows:
Username: MC5016046 (the "MC" is case-sensitive)
Password: 5016046
Default Username and Password Changes for ACR Members Accessing Content on the ACR Web Site
There has been a change in the default username and password ACR members can use to access members-only content on the ACR Web site. The change is the result of the launch of the new Web site as well as the new membership database that went into production in July. The primary change involves a shift from a 7-digit membership number to an 8-digit membership number. For most members, this change means the addition of a 0 before the 7-digit membership number they have always had. Please note that this change does not affect members who chose a custom username or password, nor does it affect usernames and passwords set up with the ACR Professional Bureau.
ACR members should use the following default formula when logging on to the ACR Web site:
Username = first and last initials in lower case plus the 8-digit ACR member number
Password = last name in lower case and without any punctuation or spaces
For example:
Wilhelm Conrad Roentgen is an ACR member whose member number is 05012345.
Username: wr05012345
Password: roentgen
Once members log on to the Web site, they will be able to customize both the username and the password.
ACR members who do not know their member number should contact the Membership Department at either membership@acr.org or (800) 347-7748.
Leadership Opportunities at the ACR and ABR
The College Nominating Committee is seeking nominations for a variety of leadership positions with the ACR and the American Board of Radiology. With the deadline for nominations just a few weeks away, the College Nominating Committee has received very few nominations. Click here to learn more about the elected positions and the process for making a nomination. If you have additional questions, please contact Mary Jane Donahue at either maryjaned@acr.org or (800) 227-5463, ext 4902.
Notice Sent Regarding the Chapter Visitation Program
Letters have been sent to chapter presidents and executive staff containing information about participating in the Chapter Visitation Program. This program includes the following goals:
- Enhancing the interchange of ideas between ACR leadership, ACR chapters, and the members they represent
- Highlighting ACR activities to all members
- Providing an opportunity for ACR leaders to better understand the many challenges faced by ACR chapters and members
The College achieves these goals by providing and funding an ACR speaker to attend a chapter meeting to highlight emerging issues and recent ACR activities. In addition, the ACR representative provides a forum or makes himself or herself available to receive chapter and member input. If your chapter would like to participate in the Chapter Visitation Program, please complete the Future Chapter Meeting Profile.
Earn points toward a 2005 chapter recognition award.
- Return the form 3 months prior to the meeting date to earn 10 points.
- Return the form 3 months prior to the meeting date and no later than January 31, 2005, to earn 10 bonus points.
For more information, please contact Trina Madison at either trinam@acr.org or (800) 227-5463, ext 4998.
Tips for Earning Points Towards a 2004 Chapter Recognition Award
Does your chapter maintain an independent Web site? If so, you have the opportunity to earn 20 points toward a recognition award in the communications category. Chapter Web sites will be reviewed and points awarded in the communications category for chapters that maintain an up-to-date site. At the time of review (December of the current award year), Web sites should include the most current chapter information, including current officers and chapter contacts, as well as meeting information for the current or upcoming year, if applicable.
Click here to learn more about the chapter recognition awards or contact Trina Madison at trinam@acr.org or (800) 227-5463, ext 4998.
Notice About Chapter Web Pages on the ACR Web Site
You may have noticed that the new ACR Web site does not have a link to a Web page for every chapter (Chapter Web Pages). Currently, the only listings are for chapters that maintain independent Web sites. As in the past, we do plan on posting Web pages for all chapters. Pages for chapters that do not have independent Web sites are under development. If you have questions about your chapter's Web presence on the ACR Web site, please contact Kelly Foster at either kellyf@acr.org or (800) 227-5463, ext 4917.
