ACR Chapter Executive Update Gets a News Look

You will notice with this issue of the ACR Chapter Executive Update that it has a new look. Our goal in making this change is to make the look of this newsletter more consistent with the look of other e-communications you receive from the ACR.

The content goals for this newsletter have not changed. We will continue to provide you news and information to assist you in your work as a chapter leader or administrator.

As always, your feedback is important to us. Please let us know what you think of the new look or suggestions you have for future issues. You can reach us at chapters@acr.org.

ACR To Offer Stipends to Chapters Participating in the AMCLC

On Feb. 19 the ACR Council Speaker, Paul H. Ellenbogen, M.D., sent a letter to chapter presidents and executive directors/secretaries informing them of two stipends available to chapters whose members participate in the 2004 ACR Annual Meeting and Chapter Leadership Conference.

There are two ways the ACR will provide funding for chapters:

  • $1,000 stipend to chapters who send a Carrier Advisory Committee member to the AMCLC.
  • $200 stipend for each member of the chapter delegation who makes a Hill visit and sends us a post-meeting Congressional Visitation Form.

Click here to view the letter and complete details of the funding available. Please contact the Office of Council and Chapter Services with questions or concerns at chapters@acr.org or (800)401.1438.

Please Share with Your Members: Contact Your Councilor Allows Members to Communicate with Their ACR Representatives

Contact Your Councilor, a searchable database of ACR councilors, is now available on the ACR Web site. The ACR Council is a representative governing body. This means that councilors represent a number of ACR members. Chapters are allotted a certain number of councilors based on the size of the chapter's membership. A councilor is allotted for every 100 members. Chapter members have the opportunity to contact their chapter's councilors prior to the 2004 ACR Annual Meeting and Chapter Leadership Conference, the governance meeting of the ACR, to express their concerns, ideas and opinions with their representatives.

The ACR facilitates this exchange between members and councilors by providing a searchable database called Contact Your Councilor on the ACR Web site for member to locate their councilors and contact them via e-mail. Contact Your Councilor is located in the AMCLC section of the ACR Web site. Please direct question and comments about this service to the Office of Council and Chapter Services at chapters@acr.org or (800)401.1438.
