Your Chance to Comment on the 2006 Practice Guidelines and Technical Standards

ACR members can review and comment on the drafts of the 2006 ACR Practice Guidelines and Technical Standards on the ACR Web site. The comments will be considered for inclusion in the drafts that will be presented for adoption at the 2006 Annual Meeting and Chapter Leadership Conference next spring. There will be 5 comment periods for review of draft guidelines, each lasting 4 weeks.

The first group of drafts will be available for review and comment through Aug 29. Click here to access the drafts.

Reminder – Payment Due from Chapters who Co-Sponsored Members-in-Training to Attend AMCLC

Those chapters who worked with the ACR to co-sponsor members-in-training to attend the recent AMCLC have received an invoice for their portion of the funds. Invoices were sent to chapter presidents, treasurers, or secretary/treasurers and the person designated as the money recipient for the chapter. Please submit your chapter's contributions directly to the ACR Office of Chapter and Volunteer Development, to the attention of Trina Zeberlein.

Hold a Chapter Meeting and Earn Points for Chapter Recognition

Has your chapter recently held a meeting? If so then you could earn points towards a chapter recognition award in meetings and education. Visit the ACR Web site to find out how.

Now through the end of December, chapters can make submissions for consideration for 2005 chapter recognition awards. Awards are given in 4 categories to recognize chapter activities in communications, government relations, membership and meetings and education. Award criteria and submission forms are available on the ACR Web site.   • ACR LifeLong Learning Series Presents Advanced Concepts in Body MRI

    • The ACR has scheduled 2 weekend courses in body MRI as part of the LifeLong Learning series. The courses will take place Sep 10-11 in Santa Monica, Calif, and Oct 22-23 in Amelia Island, Fla.   • ACR Offers a Summit on Lifetime Career Management for Radiologists

    • The ACR will sponsor the Summit on Lifetime Career Management for Radiologists Nov 5-6, in Las Vegas. The summit is designed for radiologists at all stages of their careers and addresses the critical long-term planning issues that have the greatest impact on the success of radiologists. Frank J. Lexa, MD, MBA, from the University of Pennsylvania's Wharton School, will serve as director of the course, and 10 CME credits will be available to attendees.

  • December 30, 2005 – Deadline for submitting nominations to the ACR College Nominating Committee of the 2006 Elections.
  • December 31, 2005 – Deadline for submissions for 2005 Chapter Recognition Awards.
  • May 1, 2006 – Deadline for submitting ACR fellowship nominations for the 2007 convocation.
