Chapter Presidents to Receive Survey About Radiology Management Companies

Because an increasing number of private payers are contracting with radiology management companies (RMCs) to administer radiology benefits, the ACR Managed Care Committee is interested in gaining a better understanding of the role of these companies across the country. Accordingly, the committee would like to know what your experience with these companies, if any, has been.

Within the next week, chapter presidents should receive an e-mail asking you to complete a questionnaire. The questionnaire is also being sent to the ACR Managed Care Network liaison(s) in your state. Once you receive the questionnaire, please take a few minutes to complete it. Your responses will help to guide the Managed Care Committee’s future initiatives.

If you have any questions or concerns regarding this questionnaire or the ACR Managed Care Committee or Network, contact Angela Stanley at angelas@acr.org or (800) 227-5463, ext 4560.

Looking for a Speaker for Your Next Meeting?

As a reminder, Trina Madison coordinates the Chapter Visitation Program, whereby members of the ACR Board of Chancellors, Council Steering Committee, and senior staff are sent to speak during chapter meetings and update the membership on current ACR activities. Through the program, the Office of Council and Chapter Services covers the expenses for one speaker per chapter per year. To make a request for an ACR-sponsored speaker to attend your chapter meeting please contact Trina at trinam@acr.org or (800) 227-5463, ext 4998.

Reminder About Participating in the Chapter Recognition Awards Program

Now through the end of December 2004, chapters can make submissions for consideration for 2004 chapter recognition awards. These awards recognize chapter activities during the year and will be presented at the 2005 AMCLC. Award criteria and submission forms are available on the ACR Web site. If you have questions about the chapter recognition program or would like to know your current point standings, please contact Trina Madison at trinam@acr.org or (800) 227-5463, ext 4998.

Chapter Recognition Awards: A New Way to Earn Points

New for 2004! Chapters can earn points for maintaining an updated chapter Web site. Web sites will be reviewed in December of the award year and should include the most current chapter information, including current officers and chapter contacts, as well as meeting information, if applicable, and information on how to become a member. Chapters will earn 20 points towards a communication award for their Web site. Please contact Trina Madison at trinam@acr.org or (800) 227-5463, ext 4998, with questions.

Clarification on the Chapter Recognition Award for Communications

Chapters can earn points for including the Office of Council and Chapter Services in their distribution lists for communications sent to the chapter membership or significant segments of the membership (eg, members in training or radiation oncologists). While we are very interested in what chapters are doing and appreciate frequent updates with regard to executive committee activity, the purpose of this category is to allow the Office of Council and Chapter Services to see what chapters are sending to their membership so it can be automatically included as a chapter recognition award submission. If you have questions about submissions for the communications award category, please contact Trina Madison at trinam@acr.org or (800) 227-5463, ext 4998.

Tip for Streamlining Your Chapter Recognition Award Submissions

If you have already submitted a Single Meeting Information Form (EZ) or a Single Meeting Information Form (Innovative) for a meeting where CME credit was offered, you do not need to submit a separate CME report to earn points. Click here for more information about the Chapter Recognition Program.
