HIPAA Panel Part of ASTRO Annual Meeting
Radiation oncologists planning to attend the ASTRO Annual Scientific Meeting in Salt Lake City, Utah, in October are reminded of the ASTRO/ACR/CARROS informational session titled "HIPAA in the Trenches: What Is Here and What Is Coming." This interactive panel session is scheduled for Sunday, Oct. 19 from 3:45-5:15 p.m. in the South Ballroom of the Salt Palace Convention Center.
Chaired by Paul E. Wallner, D.O., this informative educational session will provide helpful tips on how to ensure that you and your partners are in compliance with the HIPAA rules. Confirmed speakers include Karen E. Glover, J.D., of Preston Gates and Ellis L.L.P. in Seattle, Wash.; Leonard L. Lucey, J.D., of the American College of Radiology; and Charlene Finney, health insurance specialist and HIPAA coordinator for the CMS Denver regional office.
