ACR Grassroots Advocacy Goes Online

Two of the ACR's most recent innovative undertakings—an energetic and focused grassroots campaign and a recently redesigned and exciting Web site—have come together to keep ACR members up to date on the latest advocacy efforts and provide an effective and easy-to-use forum for member interaction.

In today's politically charged health care environment, the role of grassroots advocacy is more critical than ever. Simply defined, grassroots advocacy allows every ACR member to influence the legislative process by speaking up and voicing an opinion on a critical issue to legislators who will make the final decisions that affect radiology.

We invite you to visit the Grassroots Action Center, the College's new online advocacy resource center, where you will find the necessary tools and information to effect real change on behalf of radiology.

For example, in the Grassroots Action Center you can learn what committees your legislator participates in with the Committee Search tool. In the Political Education Center you will find interesting and useful information on the federal legislative process as well as guides for visiting Capitol Hill, meeting with your legislators, or hosting a fund-raiser in your own home.

We encourage each ACR member to visit the new online Grassroots Action Center and take advantage of this excellent membership resource. Simply go to www.acr.org, select the Advocacy and ACRa tab from the menu bar on the left, and click on the tab for the Grassroots Action Center.

It's never been easier to speak out and make a difference in the future of radiology.
