Campaign of 2004
|
The Campaign of 2004 was created to ensure RADPAC and the ACRa could be active participants in the many important and competitive elections this coming fall. In fact, by reaching the goal of $240,000 during the Campaign of 2004, RADPAC would close in on the $1 million level of contributions received during the 2003-2004 election cycle.
In June alone, RADPAC made a total of $180,500 in contributions to congressional candidates, leadership PACs, and political parties, and attended more than 35 fundraising events.
RADPAC has a new Web site, www.radpac.org, where members of the ACRa can contribute online and receive updated information on RADPAC contributions to candidates. As of June, all RADPAC donors in 2004 have been receiving monthly e-mail updates that include the latest figures, as well as inside election projections by renowned political analyst Charlie Cook.

Fundraising Goal Met
During the 2004 AMCLC, RADPAC Chair James Borgstede, MD, challenged ACR members in attendance to raise $100,000 for RADPAC. As a result of the generous support from more than 350 members, RADPAC exceeded that goal, raising more than $150,000. This record-breaking total for funds raised at an annual meeting was aided by two significant group practice contribution commitments: One of these contributions was a matching gift totaling more than $5,000 from Dr. Gerald Dodd’s group, from the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio. The other contribution was from Dr. Thomas Fletcher’s group, Austin Radiological Associates, which amounted to over $52,000.
