The ACR Attends National Symposium on Fusion Imaging and Multimodalities: Technical and Regulatory Considerations
In February the ACR participated in a 3-day workshop for members of the Conference of Radiation Control Program Directors to discuss emerging modalities and the need for state regulation. Topics included PET, CT, TheraSpheres™, SIRSpheres™ and GliaSite™. The workshop, held in Kansas City, Mo, attracted approximately 125 attendees from the state, federal and medical community and featured three ACR members as speakers: Richard Morin, PhD; Melissa Martin, MS; and Cassandra Foens, MD. Attendees were in agreement on the need to continue partnerships between members of the Conference of Radiation Control Program Directors and medical associations such as the ACR in order to assist states in developing appropriate licensing and inspections criteria.
