Congressional Relations is the ACR’s advocacy arm and is dedicated to strengthening the radiology profession’s outreach to Congress on a wide range of legislative issues. Congressional Relations works in concert with the other areas of the government relations department to develop appropriate legislative policy on behalf of the ACR membership. Radiologists are currently facing several critical issues that may be remedied at the federal level, including the inappropriate utilization of diagnostic medical imaging modalities, medical liability reform, reauthorization of the Mammography Quality Standards Act of 1992, reduction of physician fees reimbursed by Medicare, and teleradiology.
