Mammography Quality Control Manual (1999)
Developed by the ACR Committee on Quality Assurance in Mammography, this multivolume manual is designed to help mammography facilities establish and maintain a quality control program. The set includes four sections, one each for radiologists, radiologic technologists, medical physicists, and one on clinical image quality. Each section contains step-by-step instructions, including testing equipment, performance criteria, patient positioning, and evaluating image quality. The manual seeks to define the areas of responsibility for each of the professionals involved in this important health care field.
Note: No new edition is planned at this time. Regulations have been finalized with no significant changes since the 1999 edition.
