RLI Summit

Three Days of Unparalleled Professional Development
September 6 - 8, 2024

Tackle Workforce Challenges at the 2024 RLI Summit

During this immersive weekend, you will learn from renowned radiology leaders and business experts in an interactive environment that will equip you with the tools, strategies and new connections you need to conquer critical business and leadership challenges head-on. The RLI Summit has something for everyone!  Summit attendees represent a variety of practice settings and experience levels and together offer a team learning experience like no other.

This year’s program will focus on issues around workforce challenges and how to best manage the continued demand for imaging from a strategic decision making, operations and leadership perspective.

Faculty from Babson College, the #1 entrepreneurship MBA for three decades, will share insights and research in these important areas and lead interactive discussions that will provide you with key takeaways and practical strategies for you to implement in your practice.

Radiology leaders will guide you through two case studies that will challenge your current ways of thinking and provide you with new ideas for your practice.

There is something to learn and connections to forge at every RLI Summit.  Don't miss this chance to immerse yourself in three days of unparalleled professional development. This is the education that all physicians should have. We invite you to join us in September and encourage your colleagues to do the same.

8:30am – Noon Optimizing Operations for Labor Scarcity and Volume Growth
Optimizing operations in radiology can be particularly challenging given the volatility, uncertainty, complexity and ambiguous nature of the workforce, exam characteristics and processes. However, there are some approaches that can be used to increase stability, efficiency and, ultimately, scale clinic operations. This session will first define operational processes. Then we will leverage lean management and performance measurement to identify areas of opportunity within the practice of radiology. We will conclude with a reflection on how to develop a culture of continuous improvement.

7 – 8:30am Breakfast
8:30am – Noon Leading Yourself and Others: Building Self Awareness, Connections & A Developmental Culture
Radiologists face challenges at multiple levels from work volume to disrespect and burnout. While many of these are systemic, at the individual level, remedies may include promoting connections, expressing appreciation, and listening to colleagues. This session will be built on the emotional intelligence framework which emphasizes self- and social awareness, empathy and social skills for effective leadership. Deep self-knowledge is necessary to lead yourself in your work and career, so we will begin by considering our own self-awareness and how we connect with others. We will explore the practice of empathy and how to extend this to leading with compassion. Finally, we will practice developmental coaching to build skills and begin to consider our role in contributing to a developmental culture.
