James H. Thrall, M.D., FACR, is president of the American College of Radiology and former chair of the ACR Board of Chancellors. The ACR, with more than 33,000 members, is one of the largest medical specialty organizations in the world.

In addition to serving as president of the ACR, he is secretary of the Academy of Radiology Research. Dr. Thrall is a member of the Advisory Committee to the Director (ACD) of the National Institutes of Health (NIH).

He is the former chair of the ACR commission on molecular imaging, a member of the ACR task force on international teleradiology, and serves on the editorial board of the Journal of the American College of Radiology (JACR).
