Reston, Va. –– The American College of Radiology has recruited Nancy Cook to a new position as senior director of marketing, the first step in establishing the College's dynamic marketing efforts. The new marketing department will help spotlight the value of ACR membership and boost awareness of the College's wide-ranging benefits and services that enable ACR members to better serve their patients. The department also will be active in promoting the ACR's array of educational opportunities and its highly regarded accreditation programs.
"We want to ensure that each and every ACR member realizes the wealth of services and educational opportunities available through the College," says Barry D. Pressman, M.D., chairman of the ACR's Commission on Communications. "We also want to make nonmembers aware of what they're missing, both personally and professionally."
Cook, who previously served as acting vice president and director of marketing and public affairs at Georgetown University Hospital in Washington, D.C., joined the ACR staff on Oct. 27. The marketing department will work closely with the ACR leadership and the Commission on Communications to review existing marketing efforts and develop a plan for enhancing future projects.
The ACR is a national professional organization serving more than 32,000 radiologists, radiation oncologists, interventional radiologists and medical physicists with programs focusing on the practice of radiology and the delivery of comprehensive health care services.
