ACR Names Cindy Moran as Assistant Executive Director for Government Relations

Reston, Va. –– Sept. 8, 2003 Cindy Moran has been named assistant executive director for government relations for the American College of Radiology. Moran joins the ACR on Oct. 1 from Pharmacia Corporation, where she served as senior director for federal government affairs.
"We are pleased to have someone of Ms. Moran’s capability join the ACR," said ACR Executive Director Harvey L. Neiman, M.D., in announcing the hire. "Radiology has a vital message to deliver to legislative leaders and government agencies, and Ms. Moran will unquestionably strengthen the ACR's ability to deliver that message."
After earning her degree in history at the University of Arizona, Moran spent eight years on the staff of the late Sen. John Tower (R-Texas). She also has served in a variety of positions with the Department of Health and Human Services and for nine years as director of federal affairs for the American Academy of Ophthalmology before joining Pharmacia Corporation in 1995.
"I am looking forward to joining the ACR staff and working with its membership to be as effective as possible in all aspects of government relations," Moran said.
The ACR is a national professional organization serving more than 32,000 radiologists, radiation oncologists, interventional radiologists and medical physicists with programs focusing on the practice of radiology and the delivery of comprehensive health care services.
